    Sreyes Siksha

    Sreyes Siksha, the educational initiative of the Foundation owes its genesis to the crying need felt to bridge the gap that arose on account of disruption in school education resultant from the pandemic, particularly in the rural areas and at the primary level. The objective is to impart a literacy & numeracy programme to primary level kids and covers English, Mathematics & Tamil. The focus is not on following any type of school curriculum but on fostering Minimum Levels of Learning, as prescribed by the NCERT, relevant to the particular class. The main goals are as follows:

    • Enhancing literacy, numeracy and life skills among children at primary level;
    • Effectively engaging the children after schools hours, but for which they may get diverted in other activities;
    • Focus on understanding of basic concepts and principles, rather than blindly following the rote method.
    • Following a holistic approach by encouraging creativity, discipline, attendance and attention.
